Security Enforcement Officer

As a Border Patrol Agent, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the nation's borders and protecting its citizens.

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.


• Preventing undocumented non-citizens from entering the country by maintaining surveillance at or near borders using covert positions with infrared scopes during night operations.


• Interpreting tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.

The following qualifications are required for this position:
GL-5 grade level requires one (1) year general work experience that demonstrates ability to take charge make sound decisions maintain composure stressful situations learn regulations methods techniques classroom training job instruction gather concise information questioning observation examination records OR Education Substitution bachelor degree successful completion full four-year course study any field leading bachelor degree accredited college university Combination Experience Education calculated resume official unofficial transcripts submitted application
GL-7 grade level requires one specialized work experience shows skills necessary Make sound judgments decisions use firearms Deal effectively people courteous manner connection law enforcement matters Analyze information rapidly make prompt decisions arrests after required training apply these skills law enforcement capacity criminal code enforcement determining violation laws correctional rehabilitation work involving criminal offenders security military etc.
