The role of a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer is to ensure the security and integrity of our nation's borders. This involves enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws as well as facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel.

• Detain suspected violators of federal, state or local laws using proper law enforcement methods.


• Enforce laws relating to importing/exporting merchandise from/to US territory through interviews with travelers/conveyances for gaining information on potential threats.


• Conduct inspections on cargo/bags/merchandise by utilizing intelligence techniques/behavioral analysis for identifying risks/potential violations.
