Purpose of the Job:
Project Manager for the expansion project is responsible for the integration, design, installation, start-up, qualification and overall integration into the facility operations of equipment and related systems that are part of the scope of work assigned to him and according to his area of expertise either in clean utilities, formulation, aseptic filling in isolator/RABS and/or freeze-drying.
Responsibilities:
Work under the guidance of the Project Engineering Manager and in collaboration with the process design-engineering firm, equipment vendors, other Process Specialists, and Construction Manager and facility operation teams during all phases of his project scope of work.
Lead and propose design solutions as required.
Manage equipment vendors and technical personnel (internal & external) under his authority during his project scope of work execution.
Establish time schedule and coordination, project logistics related to process equipment procurements and process resource allocation for the different phases.
Work to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and designs, and to reduce waste when economically possible.
Help to create and oversee project budgets & schedule and engages in cost management strategies for process equipment and systems under his project scope of work.
Coordinate and participate when required site visits to suppliers' facilities at strategic moment during equipment design, machine assembly and FAT.
Act as SME to technical and non-technical stakeholders as sees required by the Project Engineering Manager and the Projects Director.
Maintain high-level expertise in their field or sector of expertise.
Assure that processes and equipment meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
Education & Experience:
Education Qualification (Highest):
BS in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical)
Desired Certification : Professionnel Engineer (P.Eng.) member of ''Ordre des ingénieur du Québec'' (OIQ)
Experience Required:
7-10 years relevant work experience
1-2 years in project management experience
PMP (PMI)
Skills Required:
Project management skills
Expert-level knowledge of sector technology and processes in pharma (in one or several area of clean utilities, formulation, fill & finish in Grade A Isolator and RABS and freeze-drying)
Data analytics skills and experience
Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders
Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms
Experience using SAP a plus
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skill
Attention to detail
Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges
Project organizational, planning, and documentation skills
Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
Salary ranges from $65,524 to $109,207 depending on education level and years of experience.
