Job Details
Position Title: Coordinator, Peer Wellness Education and Programs
Job Type: FT Support
Hours: 35 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Student Wellness and Equitable Learning
Campus/Location: 4 days at the North Campus,1 day at the Lakeshore Campus, 9am to 5pm.
Completely in-person with occasional evenings and weekends in alignment with departmental obligations (e.g. Open House) and operational hours 8:30am to 6:30pm. Option to work a compressed work week (4 days per week, 8:30am to 6:30pm)
Salary: Payband I: $40.39- $46.64
Starting Salary: $40.39; Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.
About the Student Wellness and Equitable Learning Dept at Humber:
The Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL) department is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. The cross-functional team includes Student Connection and Community Care, Residence Life and Education, Accessible Learning Services, Mental Health and Counselling, Health Services and Wellness Education and Programs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Wellness Education and Programs team to create impactful programs, services and resources that empower the Humber student community and promote a culture of well-being.
About the Coordinator, Peer Wellness Education and Programs Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Wellness Education and Programs, the Coordinator, Peer Wellness Education and Programs works to conceptualize, develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate content related to resiliency, mental health, harm reduction, sexual health, food, sexual violence prevention and overall well-being.
This role will provide leadership to a peer wellness team, lead the facilitation of early intervention supports (e.g. peer active listening sessions, wellness cart, peer-led wellness workshops etc.) and execute campus-wide health campaigns (e.g. Take Back the Night). Working as a member of a cross-functional unit, the role liaises collaboratively with campus and community stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered and that these programs meet institutional objectives.

Education
Successful completion of a university degree in an academic discipline that is transferable to the role (e.g., education, psychology, public health, health promotion, social work)
Experience/Skills
Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a postsecondary, community, healthcare, or wellness environment
Previous experience with recruiting, hiring, training, and leading a student staff team
Knowledge of student-centered, evidence-informed and anti-oppressive best practices
Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate outreach events, programs and initiatives that translate student development, health promotion, and health behaviour change theory to practice
Excellent knowledge of harm reduction, sexual health, resiliency, mental health, consent, and healthy relationship practices
Experience creating content for a variety of instructional methods including in-person curriculum and workshops, online learning, videos, social media, web, and print
Familiar with best practices in program development, implementation, evaluation
Knowledge of Stepped Care 2.0, Canadian Mental Health Standard, Okanagan Charter, Courage to Act frameworks and relevant privacy legislation (i.e, FIPPA, PHIPA) is an asset.
Excellent conflict resolution, interpersonal, client relationship, and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
Excellent team building skills.
Excellent project management skills, including budget administration.
Ability to engage and build rapport with various stakeholders and members of the postsecondary community.
Good knowledge of principles and practices of administration in a post-secondary educational environment. Proficient in the use of Word, Canva, Excel, Microsoft Bookings and One Drive.
