Wood is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join our Mining & Minerals business group. Reporting to the Department Manager, Civil, Structural & Architectural, this position is located at our #Vancouver, BC, #Burlington, ON, or #Saskatoon, SK offices. This role has overall responsibility for delivering Civil Engineering services on our major projects. Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market. Salary range for this position is CAD $135,000 - $187,000 per year. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
Civil earthwork design (including general grading, ponds, drainage, plant roads, haul roads, mill pads, containment facilities, rail spurs etc.) and buried utilities design for the construction and modification of mining and industrial facilities.
Design of surface run utilities including water conveyance piping systems, tailings discharge and brine lines, etc.
Preparation of proposals, feasibility studies, preliminary design, engineering specifications, scopes of work, quantity take-offs, and contract documents,.
Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical quality and accuracy
Manage multiple tasks in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Provide leadership, mentoring, guidance and technical expertise to the project team
Develop and maintain positive and sustainable client relationships
Coordinate and work with project managers and other discipline leads

Expected
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada
10-15 years of earthwork, buried and surface run utilities experience
Tailings/slurry piping layout design experience is an asset
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Ability to mentor junior engineers and design personnel
Experience in storm water management, stormwater runoff calculations, sizing of ditches, culverts and ponds
Good understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls
Experience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations on civil designs
Experience in interpreting geotechnical & hydrology reports
Engineering experience in private fire protection systems
Excellent organizational, technical, written and computer skills
Knowledge of general civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards and construction methods
Experience with Civil 3D software would be an asset
Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
Desirable
Experience with Civil 3D software would be an asset
