About
Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we're consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:
Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.
Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.
Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.
About The Role
Please note: This is a temporary 4-month opportunity.
ATB 101 is a student work experience and engagement program. Our ATB 101 students play an integral role in the success of our business. As an ATB 101 student you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to ATB through challenging, meaningful and diverse opportunities and make a positive impact for our clients and each other. Oh and we promise you'll have a lot of fun doing it.
ATB is more than just a bank and ATB 101 is more than just a student job.
Do you want to have an opportunity to work with customers, businesses and industries that drive Alberta's economy? Do you have a desire to understand the very core of our business and be part of the evolution of serving our customers? If so, ATB might be right for you.
Please see below to learn more about this great summer opportunity.
As ATB's next Culture & Employer Brand student, you'll join the team in strengthening our high performance, high care culture and our ATB ID values. As a highly motivated and fiercely accountable individual, you'll support the team by designing, developing, and implementing initiatives that reinforce our organizational values, storytelling, and team member value proposition to elevate ATB's culture and employer brand. This role supports a number of different programs and tactics, so curiosity and an inclination towards strong execution is a must.
Accountabilities
In collaboration with the team, actively contribute to projects from planning, designing, developing and implementation of experiences, tools, resources and communication that advance our culture, employer brand, and inspire team members to live our values - our ATB ID.
Ad-hoc support: We are a small agile team and need someone who is humble, ready to jump in and help with whatever is needed (whether that is data entry, supporting our team member events, reviewing content, etc.).
Assist the team in maintaining ATB's team member onboarding program and making continuous improvements.
Support event planning and coordination of team member events.
In collaboration with the team, work with a variety of stakeholders (e.g. Inclusion & Reconciliation; Social Impact; and other People & Culture and Communications & Marketing partners) to create consistency on how ATB's culture shows up across the team member experience.
Demonstrate curiosity and apply a user experience lens to all bodies of work.
Research best practices to inform decisions around ATB's organizational culture and employer branding. Synthesize findings from your research into clear insights and recommendations.
Engage with one of our community partners alongside your fellow ATB 101 students to complete a real-world project that has the potential to create lasting change.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
You are a relational listener. In a world that rushes to speak, you pause to listen. You understand that "data" isn't just numbers on a spreadsheet—it's the stories people tell. You approach conversations with patience and respect, creating a safe space for others to share their truth.
You value 'service' over 'status'. You have a humble spirit and a hard work ethic. You understand that true leadership is about serving the community. Whether you are creating a report or packing boxes for an event, you show up with the same level of care and pride, knowing that every task contributes to the whole.
You are curious. You aren't afraid to ask "why?" when a process doesn't feel right. You are comfortable walking into ambiguous situations and finding a path forward. You are excited to help ATB, not by having all the answers, but by asking better questions about how we work together.
You are an empowered pathfinder. You don't need a rigid script to start building bridges. You are comfortable stepping into the unknown and trusting your own initiative to navigate ambiguity. You are fiercely accountable and take ownership of your journey, proactively reaching out to people you haven't met yet to expand your circle of connections, knowing that a simple coffee chat is often the first step in finding a new solution.
You are passionate and motivated about pursuing a career in the fields of marketing, communications, change management, human resources, or organizational psychology. You are currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate from a relevant degree program.
You can effectively prioritize and manage your time well in a fast paced environment.
Relevant work, education, volunteer, or extracurricular experience would be an asset.
Don't meet all the requirements on the list?
A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you're seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.
We're dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
