Overview of role:
As WestJet becomes more complex and dynamic, we are seeking a Distribution Center Coordinator. This individual exhibits a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to use initiative and manage time effectively.
The WestJet Distribution Centre is the main supply source to all WestJet third party catering uplifters for shelf stable food and catering products. The Distribution Center also supports other business units within WestJet including: Central Baggage Services, Uniforms, IT, Cargo and Airports. Consistency of product, reliable supply, pick accuracy, and product control is imperative to ensure guest experience is to our high and exceptional standards. This position will support the Balzac Distribution Center and will be responsible for working with inventory (receiving, put away, rotation, picking, cycle counts, audits), shipping and receiving.
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8am to 4:30pm
Location: Balzac, AB
Responsibilities:
Responsible to ensure product is handled according to established procedures from receiving, put-away, order selection and shipping
Work with JDE inventory system as well as RF Smart Scanners
Perform regular cycle counts on inventory
Communicate to third party caterers any information in regards to shipping, delivery issues, changes, substitutions, or other product related issues
Responsible to support, monitor and expedite product to caterers on a scheduled basis
Process documentation daily with high accuracy regarding the transfer of bonded products to ensure federal reporting requirements
Ship product on time to ensure seamless delivery of product to all Business Unit partners the Distribution Center supports
Possess the ability to work independently, handle multiple time sensitive tasks
Operation of electric pallet jacks and counterbalanced forklifts to maneuver throughout the warehouse
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Professional Qualifications:
1-3 years experience working in a warehouse environment
Must have at minimum high school diploma
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) would be considered an asset
Inventory management would be considered an asset
Freight forwarding experience would be considered an asset
Valid Forklift certification considered an asset
Experience in warehouse management using ERP systems such as JDE and familiarity with using scanner technology is an asset
Ability to multi-task and make decisions while maintaining a calm and respectful work environment
Ability to communicate and get along well with others in a team oriented environment
Superior decision-making and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines
Physically able to handle product weighing up to 80lbs throughout entire shift
An ability to meet all conditions of employment:
