The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician – Oil Heat System Technician to join our Utilities Maintenance Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation.
The role is a permanent on-site position, working a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotational schedule.
As a Maintenance Technician - Oil Heat System Technician , you will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling, servicing, and maintaining equipment within powerplant, paste plant, booster station, wastewater plant, water treatment plant and other utility facilities.
Additionally, in this position you will:
Repair and maintain the oil-fired equipment at the mine including UG Fresh Air Raise Ventilation Fans Heaters, Incinerator Burners, and Boilers in the main powerhouse which are critical to our operation.
Inspect, examine, and test parts in order to recommend the extent and nature of the work to be done.
Test and adjust repaired systems for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer's specifications.
Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts and components of the equipment systems.
Conduct final inspections to ensure that work detailed on work order has been completed to meet safety standards.
Assist other maintenance personnel with other duties as required.

About You
Education:
College diploma in Heating Systems Technician or a similar trade is required.
An Interprovincial Oil Burner or Oil Heat System Technician Red Seal Certification is required.
Preference will be given to those with an Interprovincial Red Seal Certification or active Apprenticeship in Newfoundland and Labrador in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic or Millwright.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years Journeyperson experience
Skills:
Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of fixed plant equipment.
Innovation and ability to use initiative.
Flexibility regarding work activities and type of work requirements.
The ability to work in a multi-discipline, multi-tasking, team environment.
