The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team on a part-time, on-demand contract basis at 20 hours per week. This is a fully remote engagement open to contractors based in the United States or offshore.
You'll join a small, high-impact engineering team responsible for the cloud platforms and internal tooling that power how our products are built, deployed, and operated. As a senior individual contributor, you won't just maintain infrastructure—you'll design, build, and run the systems that enable our engineers to ship faster and our customers to succeed reliably.
Scope of Work
You will be responsible for the following deliverables within your contracted hours:
• Design, implement, and evolve cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines that make deployments safe, repeatable, and fast
• Develop and support serverless and cloud-native services (Azure Functions, containers, Kubernetes/AKS)
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability so issues are detected before customers feel them
• Integrate security throughout the lifecycle with DevSecOps best practices
• Write automation and tooling in Python, .NET/C#, or similar languages
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, Devin, etc.) to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards
• Partner closely with engineering teams to improve reliability, performance, and developer velocity
• Participate in production support and incident response as needed within contracted hours
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, or Platform Engineering
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure preferred)
• Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS)
• Experience building or operating serverless/cloud-native workloads
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python, .NET/C#, or similar scripting/automation languages
• A security-first mindset and comfort owning production systems
• Experience using AI-powered coding tools to work more effectively
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) for async and real-time collaboration
Engagement Details
Engagement Type Independent Contractor / 1099 (US) or equivalent
Weekly Commitment 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
Location Fully remote – US-based or offshore
Collaboration Hours Minimum 4 hours overlap with US Eastern Time required
Tools Microsoft Teams, Azure DevOps, standard async communication
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
