What is the opportunity?
RBC AML Program and Innovation team supports the Global RBC AML program by delivering projects and programs related to regulatory changes and strategic improvement and enhancement of the AML program. Reporting into the Director, AML Transformation as a Senior Project Manager, Global AML Initiatives you will oversee projects impacting key Financial Crimes programs, tools and processes. You will work with various teams within the Financial Crimes area as well as across the Bank including data provisioning teams, IT development and QA teams, business stakeholders, vendors, production and maintenance support teams.
What you will do?
- Monitor and analyze the life cycle of a project to identify problems and ensure they are appropriately resolved.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to executives, stakeholders and project team with escalations raised at appropriate times.
- Plan and manage projects, including scope negotiation, initiative ownership, milestones accomplishment and timelines management.
- Provide guidance to Business Analysts on working with business stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements and communicating with technology experts. Validate and document business, functional and non-functional requirements
- Oversee the activities of a project team and work with project personnel to ensure quality delivery within set time constraints and budget.
- Ensure delivery of solutions and services meet requirements
- Apply appropriate change management process to balance competing demands and priorities. Determine and convey impact of changes on budget, time and risk
- Liaise with AML IT teams to communicate and deliver Business Stakeholder requirements to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and complete post-implementation verification.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Firm knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and tools
- Experienced managing several significant projects simultaneously
- Good working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence
- Excellent organization and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical skills and ability to coordinate, problem-solve, and make day-to-day decisions, understanding when to escalate
Nice-to-have
- Over 5 years of experience working on large projects
- Over 5 years of experience in the Banking Industry
- Strong IT background with deep understanding of various roles in project
- University Undergraduate and/or College equivalent
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation
