About the role Job SummaryThe Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, calibrating, and repairing technical products and systems at customer field locations. This role performs a variety of maintenance and technical support tasks and may provide onsite training to customer support personnel.
This job profile is intended for experienced support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.

Join our Rotating Equipment Services team with Sulzer RES Canada Ltd as Field Service Representative to help us take Sulzer to the next level.
In this role you will be accountable for:
- Strip, inspect, and re-build machinery following pre-established work scopes or using own judgment in a situation where no work scope could be defined i.e. emergency repairs, problem-solving, etc.
- Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance and on-site Overhauls of Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Compressors and Pumps.
- Work to prescribed clearances/tolerances as dictated by the manufacturer's specifications or good engineering practice
- Represent the company as a senior representative for Sulzer on site.
- Lead other Field Service Technicians (Sulzer, Contractors or Customers)
- Responsible for completing all necessary paperwork and reports for jobs.
- Inform closest Service Center of any potential sales activities while at site.
- Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience working on Pumps, Compressors and Turbomachinery in the field or within a workshop.
- Time served as a Journeyman Millwright.
- Capable of reading and understanding technical drawings
- Prepared to work at customer sites / facilities.
- Strong ability to utilize technical knowledge and analytical skills to resolve problems.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in latest "Microsoft" software. SAP and Concur expense reporting a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and listening skills.
- Interpersonal and customer service skills.
