Job Summary
This position's primary purpose is to assist with basic routine data entry, documentation, database maintenance, and code reviews of existing epigenetics projects.
Organizational Status
This position will report to Dr. Michael Kobor who is the Principal Investigator. 
Work Performed

  • Assisting with basic routine data entry and documentation of the existing projects.

  • Performing sample quality control and data preprocessing and working closely with other research personnel and collaborators on such issues.

  • Developing, maintaining and optimizing project databases and tools.

  • Assisting with creating and maintaining technical documentation.

  • Assisting with data analysis using statistical models.

  • Assisting with creating, debugging and troubleshooting in R programming environment.

  • Contributing to writing scientific manuscripts.

  • Providing weekly project updates.

  • Performing other related tasks.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
The work described follows established protocols and techniques.  The position requires strong organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills.  Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.  Errors could compromise the scientific integrity of the project.

Works with a senior bioinformatician.

Monthly reports to Dr. Michael Kobor at lab meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
