Who we are:

For over 25 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world's most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It's a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

Your role:

We're looking for a hands-on Lead UX Designer to drive the design of AI-powered experiences across Global Relay's Archiving platform. You will lead through expertise, execution, and ownership, not only by directing others.

You will take ambiguous problem spaces and turn them into clear, intuitive user experiences. Working closely with product, engineering, and stakeholders, you will design end-to-end solutions for complex enterprise workflows, ensuring our AI features are trustworthy, usable, and aligned with customer and regulatory needs.

This is a high-impact position for a designer who thrives in fast-moving environments, brings strong critical thinking, and is motivated by hands-on craft.

Your responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute UX design for AI-driven features from discovery through delivery.
  • Work directly in the details—user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction models, and final design specifications.
  • Turn ambiguity into clarity by defining problem statements, opportunities, and user journey
  • Design for enterprise-grade complexity, including multi-role workflows, large data sets, and regulatory constraints.
  • Create clear, implementation-ready documentation for engineering teams.
  • Represent the user perspective in product and technical discussions, advocating for transparency, trust, and intuitive AI behavior.
  • Collaborate tightly with cross-functional teams, building alignment across product, engineering, and compliance.
  • Provide mentorship through craft, offering feedback in design reviews and contributing to design standards.
About you:
  • 10+ years of UX or interaction design experience, with several years operating at a senior or lead level.
  • Comfortable working on complex, ambiguous projects, an excellent presenter, who can quickly grasp new concepts, and is capable of working autonomously with minimal support.
  • Expert in end-to-end design, from insight gathering to high-fidelity solutions and usability validation.
  • Proven experience with complex enterprise or B2B products, especially involving multi-step workflows and data-heavy environments.
  • Skilled at leading cross-functional work through influence, clarity, and strong communication.
  • Comfortable designing for AI, including user control, uncertainty, and human–AI collaboration.
  • Exceptional communicator, able to articulate design decisions and align stakeholders.
  • Hands-on by default—you lead through execution, not delegation.
  • Degree in HCI, Psychology, UX design related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in an Enterprise business environment and Agile is definitely an asset
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
  • Background in financial services.
  • Published case studies that show depth in research and problem-solving.
  • Experience contributing to design strategy or shaping product direction.
