Position: Outreach and Program Support Coordinator
Positions Available: 3
Duration: March – January (Mentorship Cycle)
Status: Volunteer, Part-Time
Weekly Time Commitment: 3 – 5 hours (seasonal variation; higher during outreach campaigns)
Department: MAX Mentorship
Reports To: City Lead, Calgary

Role Overview

As an Outreach and Program Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in growing and sustaining the mentorship program by recruiting volunteers, promoting MAX initiatives, and supporting program operations. You will engage with community partners, educational institutions, and other networks to attract new participants and build program awareness. Your coordination efforts will help ensure the smooth running of mentorship activities and contribute to a vibrant, connected community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting and mobilizing volunteers for mentorship events and program initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus groups, community organizations, and Muslim networks to expand outreach.
  • Coordinate communication and follow-ups with prospective volunteers and program participants.
  • Support City Leads with program logistics and operational tasks to ensure successful mentorship cycles.
  • Help track volunteer engagement and provide updates to the leadership team.
  • Contribute to marketing and promotional efforts in collaboration with the Communications team.
  • Collect and relay feedback from volunteers and participants to improve outreach and program processes.

  • Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience or relevant work experience in any field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to support and engage diverse groups of mentors and mentees.
  • Experience with volunteer coordination, program support, or community engagement is a plus.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and professional mentorship environment.
