Maintains a clean and sanitary work area by adhering to all sanitation and hygiene procedures, including sweeping, and mopping of the kitchen floor as required. Washes, prepares and or cooks various food (i.e., vegetables, potatoes, rice). Uses all general cooking methods to prepare assigned menu items. Prepares derivative sauces using mother sauce in accordance with Standard Recipe Files. Produces a la carte sandwiches, salads, cold appetizers, and dessert plates in accordance with the Pantry Standard Recipe and Menu Knowledge files. Prepares and presents menu items in accordance with the Menu Knowledge File. Ensures proper heating, re-heating, and storing of foods are in accordance with Public Health and Sanitation Standards. Cooks breakfast items as assigned. Prepare baked goods (i.e., bread, muffins, danishes, tarts, cakes, cheesecakes, sponge cakes, and assorted squares) Measure and scale ingredients for baking, and work with fondants. Decorates cakes using piping bags, Prepares, garnishes, and presents salads, cheese, fruit and meat platters and canapés. Prepares plated desserts for tour groups and banquet patrons. Set-up, monitor and replenish and tear down Buffets and Stations for events. Assists in requisitioning from storeroom to replenish inventory levels and to minimize stock out. Ensures incoming stock is properly stored and check incoming product for quality and quantity. Assist in receiving produce orders by ensuring incoming produce is of the proper quality and quantity. Assist in the monitoring of food quality by managing inventory levels, inspecting quality of food, and reporting any issues or waste to the Supervisor. Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, WHMIS, AGCO Regulations, Safe Food Handling Regulations, Recycling Programs and established policies and procedures. Provides guests with information regarding NPC Attractions and Events. Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission. Provides quality customer service that meets NPC Standards. Completion of a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience. Training in Food Preparation is an asset. Knowledge in food preparation operations, Food Safety and Occupational Health and Safety Act. One to three years related experience agreed upon by the Department Manager and Chef.
