A Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) is responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. They must be able to make rapid judgments and decisions while working with various regulations, instructions, and procedures.

• Detaining suspected violators of federal laws.
• Enforcing import/export regulations.
• Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity.

To become a CBPO you must meet the eligibility requirements which include being a U.S. citizen aged between 21-37 years old having had primary residency in the United States for at least three out of the last five years holding either an LL.B or J.D degree from an accredited university having completed at least one year specialized experience equivalent to GS-7 level positions with relevant skills like utilizing intelligence techniques detaining suspects conducting inspections performing risk assessments etc.,
