Border Enforcement Specialist - High-Risk Operations

• Hold current or prior law enforcement experience in military police assignments or state/local agencies; GS-9 requires one (1) year specialized GL-9 grade level performing duties such as searches, apprehensions & investigative work;


• GS-11 requires 1yr exp equiv next lower grade level enforcing laws arresting investigating crimes under official LEO capacity leading investigations utilizing intelligence information surveillance technology communicating equipment making arrest judgments firearms deals w people analyzing rapid decisions developing network informants/enforcement collaboration/communication networks/intelligence gathering/case analysis.

Duties include:

1. Detecting questioning immigrants suspected violating customs laws inspect documents possessions determine citizenship violations preventing alien smugglers detecting violating immigration customs inspection evidence marks tracks contraband


2. Maintaining surveillance covert positions infrared scopes night operations using motors vehicles snowmobiles off-road ATVs motorcycles track identifying policing traffic building inspections farm checks city patrols transportation zone visits/disruptions investigation/transfers/detention processes secondary duty assignment/mobility rotations/humanitarian disaster response.
