Outside Sales Representative
As a valued member of our team, the Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for selling and providing technical assistance relative to our ready-mix concrete products within specified markets, while focusing on growing prospective customers to increase market share and improving profit margins. Identify and establish contacts with potential customers. Establish working relationships with decision-makers. Become subject matter expert on cement products. Effectively prepare bid packages and quotes. Maintain accurate forecasts through formal backlog reporting. Target and acquire new accounts and maintain existing accounts by strengthening customer relationships. Self-motivated with the ability to meet and exceed sales budgets. Answer inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large in a timely manner. Work with customers and the internal credit department to optimize accounts receivable. Develop and maintain analysis of customer base, competition, and marketplace. Represent company in industry associations and industry events. Able to develop and service customers and work independently out of an unsupervised office or residence as needed. Able to travel locally on a regular basis to maintain a consistent presence with the marketplace. Generate and submit sales reports to management as directed. Non-Essential Duties
Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and competitors' offerings. Build mailing lists to support the sales process. Provide product demonstrations as needed. Attend trade shows to network and generate leads. Perform other duties as assigned. Core Competencies
Results oriented with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills with emphasis on time management. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are as scheduled by your direct manager. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Required
50% to 80% Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. 2+ years experience as inside sales or administration. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Experience with construction materials, processes, and equipment. Must have a valid Driver's License Preferred Education and Experience
5+ years sales experience or related experience in the construction/construction materials industry. Other Duties
