We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk at our Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse. This role is essential to our logistics operations, ensuring all incoming goods are accurately processed and accounted for. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for verification, inspection, and data entry. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records are crucial. We emphasize a safe working environment, and all employees are expected to follow strict safety guidelines and utilize the required PPE. While not heavily physical, the role does require some lifting and movement of goods. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution or put-away.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to management and relevant departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a similar administrative role in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer systems (WMS experience is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Effective communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
