We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk for our Richmond, Virginia facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers to guarantee timely deliveries. Your responsibilities will include verifying order details, properly packaging items, generating shipping labels, and loading products onto outbound trucks. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to contributing to a smooth logistics operation, this position is an excellent fit. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and verify items for outgoing orders.
- Package products securely and appropriately for transit, using designated materials.
- Generate and affix correct shipping labels and documentation.
- Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas for carrier pickup.
- Load trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and resolve any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of shipping supplies.
- Ensure adherence to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in preparing shipments and generating shipping labels.
- Experience with various shipping carriers and their systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Understanding of logistics and warehouse Safety practices.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
