Join our team in Washington, D.C., as a Receiving Clerk and play a critical role in managing the flow of goods into our facility. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to oversee the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming shipments. This involves unloading deliveries, verifying contents against orders, inspecting for damage, and ensuring proper documentation for our logistics operations. Your precision is key to maintaining accurate inventory and supporting operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments promptly and accurately.
- Verify quantities and product details against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect all received goods for any damage or defects and report issues.
- Document all received items accurately in our inventory management system.
- Stage received goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Assist with inventory control procedures as needed.
- Perform occasional lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and receiving best practices.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and the importance of PPE.
