Job Description
The Enclave is currently seeking experienced Medication Technicians (Med Techs) / Personal Care Assistants (PCA) in the Durham area for an Adult Residential Care Home. Must have clean background and health clearances. EOE
Responsibilities:
As a Med Tech / PCA, you will perform all personal care duties that Med Techs and/or perform, such as personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation, medication administration, goal implementation etc.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting residents with their personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring.
Job Duties:
· Medication Administration
· Assist with residents' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
· Provides for activities of daily living by preparing and assisting with serving meals, feeding residents as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning residents; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
· Maintains resident stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
· Provides resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting residents; answering residents' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the resident to supervisor.
· Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
· Maintains work operations by following The Enclave’s policies and procedures.
· Protects organization's value by keeping resident information confidential.
· Serves and protects the Residental Adult Care Home by adhering to professional standards, Residential Adult Care Home policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.
Skills and Qualifications must include but are not limited to;
· Medication Technician certification.
· High School degree or GED required.
· At least 2 years of experience working with the elderly and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
· Valid drivers’ license and automotive insurance.
Must have the ability to multi-task, provide bedside manner, Infection Control, create a safe and effective environment, observe, document and inform etc;
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
