The U.S. Border Patrol is a highly trained and elite team of law enforcement professionals dedicated to safeguarding the nation's borders.

• To qualify at the GL-5 grade level: One (1) year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge & make sound decisions; maintain composure in stressful situations; learn regulations & methods through training or on-the-job instruction; gather concise information through questioning observation or document examination OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR Combination of Experience Education - calculated using resume official unofficial transcripts submitted with application.
• To qualify at GL-7 grade level: One year specialized work experience showing necessary skills such as making sound judgments using firearms dealing effectively with people courteous manner connection law enforcement matters analyzing rapid prompt decisions applying these skills in enforcing criminal codes determining violations correctional rehabilitation involving offenders security military etc.
