The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) hires full-time, entry-level career Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) opportunities for the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP). About This Position
- This is a career ladder position with multiple grade levels available based on your experience or education qualifications:
- GL-5/GL-7 starting at $49,739 - $89,518 per year including locality pay in some locations
- You may qualify for up to an additional 25% of base pay after completion of training under the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014

The typical assignments include:
p Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws and inspecting documents and possessions
to determine citizenship status p Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations p Interpreting physical evidence such as tracks,

cchecking farming properties buildings traffic areas city patrols transportation checks patrolling international boundary coastal waterways p
