At most eCom teams, "Video Editor" really means… messy footage, unclear direction, last-minute requests - and you're expected to magically create a "winning ad" with zero context.
Not here.
We're STABI (- a performance-driven footwear DTC brand (8-figures USD last year) scaling aggressively through world-class creative. We're Australia's fastest-growing footwear brand (selling primarily worldwide). For privacy reasons, we've hidden the brand name in this posting.
How this works on Upwork (important):
**WE'RE HIRING VIA A PAID TEST TASK FIRST**
If your test task is a success (and you're fast + consistent), you'll be offered ongoing weekly work, with the potential to ramp into a full-time role with a great base plus performance package.
The Paid Test Task (first step):
1. Deliverable: Edit 1 performance ad (vertical 9:16) from our brief.
99% of our ads are under 1.5 minutes and should take no more than 2 hours to edit.
You'll be given: brief, footage, script, examples and brand guidelines
- Must be edited in CapCut
- Must use ElevenLabs for voiceover (we provide the script)
- Use AI tools where appropriate (e.g., cleanup, cutdowns, b-roll, generation, captions, etc.)
Output requirements:
- 1080x1920 MP4
- Clean captions/subtitles
- Proper pacing + hook-first structure
- PLUS 1–2 hook variations
- Timing: Fast turnaround matters - we move quickly and expect on-time delivery.
If it's a strong result: we'll immediately move you into weekly briefs (5–10 per week).
**Ongoing Work (if selected after test):**
You'll be responsible for executing ad briefs from our creative team and applying the finishing touches that make the message land.
This is marketing-first editing: hooks, pacing, structure, clarity, proof.
Core responsibilities (if hired full time):
- Edit 5–10 performance ad briefs/week (paid social)
- CapCut only (required)
- Use Video AI tools to support ad production (required)
- Turn scripts into voiceovers with ElevenLabs (required)
- Collaborate with Copywriters + Creative Directors
- Iterate fast via feedback loops and weekly learnings
- Organise + upload finals cleanly (ReCharm)
- Weekly 30-min ad review on what you shipped
Potential Full Time Hours:
M–F | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM PST (flexible - we can align)
Comp (ongoing):
Potential to move into a monthly base equivalent of $1,600–$2,500 USD + performance incentives, depending on speed/quality/output.
Must-Have Experience:
- 1+ year editing performance ads (eCom preferred)
- CapCut (mandatory) - vertical formats (9:16)
- ElevenLabs voiceover workflow (mandatory)
- Experience with UGC + direct response creatives
- AI tool experience (tell us which tools + how you use them)
- Strong file hygiene + organisation
- Strong English comprehension + proactive communication
- Understands Meta ad creative fundamentals (hook rate, pacing, retention)
- Direct response principles (hooks, proof, objections)
Nice to Have:
- Footwear/apparel experience
- Simple Canva overlays / static ad skills
This is NOT for you if:
- Slow at communication
- You miss deadlines or need chasing
- You dislike feedback and iteration
- You're unorganised with exports/versions
- You don't want to learn performance creative

Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
