We are excited to confirm our search for a Senior Accountant to join our team at a pivotal moment for CLV Group. This role plays an important part in supporting thoughtful decision making through strong financial analysis, clear reporting, and practical insight. You will be a trusted partner to property operations and a contributor to how we continue to grow, improve, and work better together.
Today we are confirming our search for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be integral in supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis, and full cycle accounting reporting. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to property operations, streamline processes, and champion continuous improvement within the property management accounting function.
In addition to the duties typically expected of a senior accounting professional, responsibilities will include:
Real Estate Portfolio Reporting
· Own end-to-end financial reporting for an assigned CLV property portfolio, ensuring accurate quarterly and annual income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
· Complete month-end and year-end processes, including reviewing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and amortization schedules.
· Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled, and keep the chart of accounts up to date
· Assist in preparing annual operating budgets and capital expenditures and provide variance analysis reports with explanations and corrective recommendations.
· Complete property tax filings and recoveries by reviewing assessments, coordinating required documentation, monitoring deadlines, validating tax charges against lease terms, and ensuring accurate preparation and billing of all recoverable tax expenses.
· Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial reporting standards.
Financial Planning & Analysis
· Partner closely with property management teams to understand day-to-day operations and translate financial results into meaningful insights that support operational decision making.
· Act as a finance business partner to operations, helping teams understand financial impacts, manage cash flow, and strengthen financial discipline across the portfolio.
· Partner with maintenance and operations teams to report on weekly work order, renovation, and capital activity metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Lead and support change management initiatives within operations accounting, including process clean up, standardization, and modernization of reporting and close activities.
· Champion technology forward solutions and continuous improvement efforts to enhance data quality, efficiency, and scalability of operations accounting processes.
Leadership and Special Projects
· Provide mentorship and day-to-day guidance to junior accounting staff, supporting skill development and building stronger operational accounting capability within the team.
· Contribute to ad hoc operational finance projects and cross functional initiatives, including portfolio transitions, system enhancements, and process redesign efforts.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation strongly preferred.
· Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
· Proven full-cycle accounting experience, including reviewing and validating work completed by junior accountants and AP/AR technicians.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to diverse audiences; bilingual (English/French) proficiency is an asset.
· Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, proactive approach to stakeholder management.
· Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
· Advanced proficiency with accounting systems; Yardi experience is a significant asset.

The approximate salary range for this role will depend on what you bring to the table. Our expectations are $85,000–$110,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including market competitiveness, skills, experience, educational attainment, professional designations, internal equity, and other job related requirements.
