Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule all preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs for short-haul tractors and trailers.
Work Order Management: Review daily Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs) and manage digital work orders to ensure all reported defects are addressed promptly.
Inventory Control: Manage the shop's parts inventory, including sourcing, ordering, and tracking specialized components to ensure cost-effective operations.
Compliance Tracking: Maintain meticulous records for vehicle inspections, emissions, and safety certifications to ensure 100% compliance with provincial/federal regulations.
Safety Leadership: Work in accordance with GFL's "Safe for Life" policies, ensuring all shop activities meet internal and regulatory safety standards.
Administrative Support: Monitor fuel consumption, fluid levels, and maintenance expenses to provide accurate data for the Branch Manager and Controller.
Experience: 2+ years in fleet coordination, logistics, or a mechanical shop environment (heavy-duty industry experience preferred).
Technical Knowledge: General understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and air brake components.
Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Google and experience using fleet management software (e.g., M5, TMW).
Organization: Proven ability to prioritize in a high-pressure, fast-paced hauling environment.
Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical issues between drivers, mechanics, and management.
Education: High School Diploma required; a technical diploma in logistics or automotive management is considered a strong asset.
