What is the opportunity?
Serving as the RBC "Centre of Expertise" within the Next Best Action (NBA) Delivery team in the deployment of data-driven, targeted client communications for Next Best Action. You will champion and successfully manage through uncertainty and change in a fast-paced environment while leading and supporting team members through the process, and keeping them focused on business priorities
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to contribute and build upon the ecosystem with collaboration with our technology/business partners across the bank. This is a highly technical role requiring hands-on experience with data and decisioning tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python/ Teradata). The candidate selected will be responsible for integrating, building code and executing effective and efficient direct marketing as well as migrating existing campaigns to a new platform (SAS to Lumina – Jupiter Notebooks).
What will you do?
- Campaign Execution:
- Deliver complete, accurate, and timely campaign execution aligned with business objectives.
- Translate technical specifications into code for deploying direct marketing tactics across multiple channels.
- Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure campaign design and build meet business needs.
- Data & Compliance:
- Adhere to Data Stewardship and Governance policies, supporting Canadian Banking strategies.
- Maintain corporate reputation by strictly following privacy guidelines, ethics, and governance policies.
- Technical Expertise:
- Highly skilled in data mining and developing complex campaigns.
- Integrate learnings from past and post-campaign results to optimize strategies.
- Demonstrate leadership in process improvement and coding efficiency.
- Innovation & Efficiency:
- Identify and implement methods to shorten the marketing cycle or reduce costs.
- Ensure CRM concepts (e.g., predictive models) and CIDM best practices are applied daily by self and team.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience in Python, SAS, SQL, and relational database marketing.
- 2+ years of specialty expertise in structured programming and data analytic tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python).
- 2+ years of experience in experimental design and application.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation:
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to emerging technologies.
- Experience simplifying and automating workflows to enhance client outcomes.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in agile environments.
- Strong lateral relationship-building through influence.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for insightful explanations.
- Project & Time Management:
- Strong project management, implementation, and time management skills.

- Industry Experience:
- Strong experience in the financial services industry, with marketing understanding as an asset.
