The Global Private Debt Investments ("GPD") team of Canada Life manages a $40 billion debt investment portfolio. Every year, GPD invests in over 60 transactions with varying sizes up to $200 million. The investment mandate is focused on Canadian/US/European fixed income in core sectors including Power Generation/Renewable Power Projects, Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure, Long-Term Care, Corporates, and Equipment Financing.
The Investment Analyst will support the GPD team in annual credit reviews, compliance, and other investment analytical reports, as well as other assigned tasks.
What you will do
- Complete annual credit reviews for existing investments, including reviewing financial statements, financial models, and other transaction documents, analyzing performance, and monitoring covenant compliance.
- Monitor an assigned portfolio of investments, including reviewing quarterly financial statements and compliance reports, providing credit updates, and documenting the risk management process.
- Maintain various risk management/compliance reports.
- Assist in amendments and other investment management reports.
- Support the team in due diligence for new investment opportunities.
- Support in various process improvement projects.
What you will bring
- A baccalaureate degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate with multiple team members.
- Experience in investment research or credit analysis considered an asset.
- Ability to analyze complex financial models preferred.
- Active enrollment in the CFA program preferred.

The base salary for this position is between $57,100 - $85,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
