Heavy Duty Mechanic

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations)
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Responsible for operating a service truck
• Travel required

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (required)
• Minimum 2 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
• Experience independently operating a service truck
• Completion, or in the process of completing, Finning S-level courses
• Dedication to safety
• Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with customers
• Must have basic computer skills

Assets:

• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset

Note:

• This position is for a 5x2 Mon-Friday schedule based out of our Grande Prairie facility
• Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
