What we need:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Director of Application Development & Support. The Senior Director of Application Development & Support is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of Guardian's enterprise applications, integrations, and reporting platforms. This role owns the end-to-end application lifecycle across core business systems including Sage, Albi, ADP, HubSpot, Celigo (integration platform), and PowerBI.
This leader will establish a scalable application operating model, enforce strong development and testing practices, and build a high-performing team of employees and contractors. The role will partner closely with Finance, Operations, HR, Marketing, and external vendors to ensure systems are reliable, well-integrated, and aligned with business priorities.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience leading enterprise application and integration teams in a PE-backed and/or high-growth environment, with a strong bias toward execution, structure, and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Application & Platform Ownership
- Own overall strategy, roadmap, and operating model for Guardian's enterprise application portfolio (Sage, Albi, ADP, HubSpot, PowerBI, Celigo).
- Establish clear system ownership, release management, and change control practices.
- Serve as escalation point for major application issues and vendor performance.
Integration & Data Enablement
- Own integration architecture and delivery approach using Celigo and direct APIs.
- Lead M&A system integrations and including data migration from legacy systems to Guardian's enterprise wide systems.
- Lead design and execution of integrations across finance, operations, HR, and customer-facing systems.
- Ensure data consistency, reliability, and monitoring across system-to-system workflows.
Reporting & Analytics Enablement
- Oversee development of PowerBI dashboards and KPI reporting.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to define standardized metrics and reporting models.
- Ensure reliable data pipelines feeding reporting platforms.
Delivery Excellence & Quality
- Establish and enforce development standards, code quality, testing practices, and documentation.
- Implement Agile delivery practices, backlog prioritization, and predictable release cadences.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and secure.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead a mixed team of FTEs and contract resources (including integration engineers, BI developers, system owners).
- Hire, coach, and develop high-performing technical leaders and individual contributors.
- Build a culture of accountability, application ownership, and continuous improvement.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Own relationships with key application and integration vendors.
- Manage SOWs, performance, and cost for contractors and implementation partners.
- Drive reductions in long-term vendor dependency where appropriate.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, Marketing, and Growth teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Support training enablement through documentation, sandboxes, and technical walkthroughs (training delivery owned by Operations).
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of experience in application development, enterprise systems, or integration engineering.
- 5+ years of experience leading application development or platform teams.
- Experience owning enterprise SaaS platforms (ERP, HRIS, CRM, BI, Integration).
- Strong understanding of integration architectures, APIs, middleware platforms, and data flows.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Agile / product-oriented delivery models.
- Experience in a private-equity-backed and/or high-growth environment.
Preferred
- Experience with Sage, ADP, HubSpot, PowerBI, and/or Celigo (or similar platforms).
- Experience modernizing legacy or fragmented application environments.
- Background in services, field operations, or multi-location businesses.

Compensation:
Guardian is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $180,000 - $210,000 + Bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
Location: We are headquartered in Denver and have a strong preference for local candidates, however we are open to candidates based in Mountain, Central, or Eastern Time Zones. Additionally, this role will require up to 15% travel.
