What you will be doing:

  • Calibrate, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on all assigned instruments
  • Process and Analyze Summa Canister samples for GC/MS and GC/SCD testing
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal equipment readiness
  • Review and ensure QA/QC objectives are appropriate and being met
  • Follow and develop Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
  • Report results
  • Coordinate shipping of air sampling supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the table:
  • Technical diploma or degree is an asset
  • Experience with the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of GC/MS and GC/SCD instrumentation
  • Previous experience working with Summa Canisters is an asset
  • Knowledge of full laboratory processes
  • Knowledge of chromatographic processing software (e.g., Agilent Mass Hunter) is an asset
  • Proficiency in Excel and data management
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
  • Able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deliverables within a fast-paced working environment
