Due to increasing workload, I'm looking for a reliable Backend Support Engineer to work closely with me and help execute backend development tasks.
This is an active development role — you will be pushing code regularly and contributing to real production systems.
Compensation & Commitment
Budget: $200 per month (fixed)
Commitment: ~20-30 hours per week
Minimum Timezone Overlap: 3 hours with PST
Duration: 6–9 months (long-term possible)

Responsibilities
Implement modular, production-ready Python APIs
Follow strict Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Write clean, testable, maintainable code
Design and modify database schemas when required
Push code consistently via Git
Complete assigned backend tasks independently
Communicate clearly on blockers and progress
You will work directly with me and receive structured tasks, but I expect ownership and accountability.
Required Skills
1–3 years of backend Python experience
Experience with FastAPI / Django / Flask
Strong understanding of REST API design
Experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL)
Experience writing unit tests (Pytest/unittest)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
Docker basics
AWS fundamentals
CI/CD familiarity
Exposure to scalable system design
Not Suitable For
Data science or analytics profiles
Developers without testing experience
Candidates who cannot commit 20 hours/week
Candidates without PST overlap
