As a Project Accountant I, you will be responsible to work within a project team to support the development, maintenance and administration of project set ups, cash flow, forecasts, invoices and reports. Responsibilities
  • Support the project team on the development, maintenance and administration of project set ups, project updates, cash flow, forecasts, invoices and reports.
  • Assists the Project Manager by contributing to the development of proposed working schedules for estimating which sufficiently illustrate the sequence of work activities and contract time.
  • Assist with monitoring all actual cost expenditures relative to project budgets
  • Suggests methods to improve project plan and mitigate schedule slippage. Identifies trends, areas of concerns and makes recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Create, maintain and administrate cost forecasting/reporting to ensure accuracy and visibility of project budgets to project scope/objectives.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Finance, Operations, Project Managers, and clients to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • Generate invoices for assigned projects according to the invoicing schedule.
  • Prepare status reports, presentations and related project documentation.
  • Prepare any other project financial analysis as required.
  • Assess and document trends and risks of the project related to cost.
  • Complete other projects, reporting and tasks as assigned
  • Support the Project Manager with document management.
  • All other related duties as required.
  • Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • Education: College or technical diploma in business administration or accounting.

  • Experience
  • 3 years of project administration experience (cost reporting).
  • Previous experience working in an environmental consulting or EPC firm.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
