The Product Developer Intern will be responsible to assist with all aspects of product development working closely with our team of designers and category management to provide design/engineering support.

What you'll do to be successful in this role
- Assist the team with evaluating product samples and conduct functional tests throughout the development and production stage. Assist with design decisions on product development to save cost and ensure efficiency in production.
- Create prototypes as required and update data for production in SolidWorks (CAD software) accurately and on time.
- Conduct research to identify product materials, assembly, construction, and production techniques.
- Support all aspects of product development from design specification to launch.
- Support the Category Management team as needed to support product training, showrooms, product presentations.
What you'll bring
- No prior professional experience is required. Candidates should have completed, or be currently enrolled in, at least one relevant course in design (industrial, environmental, architectural) as part of their academic program.
- Strong knowledge of using 3D & 2D software tools including SolidWorks and Adobe Creative Suite to create impressive presentations and accurate production data
- Works independently and collaboratively as part of a team within strict deadlines
- Able to understand Umbra's requirement in quality, visual appearance, and functionality to ensure developed product meets the design intent and support the Umbra Brand.
Compensation:$18/hr
