Customs and Border Protection Officer - Job Summary
This role involves enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws to safeguard the nation's economic prosperity.
- Duties will include detaining suspected violators of federal laws and conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
To be successful in this position, you should possess specialized experience in law enforcement methods or a related field. The ideal candidate should also have excellent judgment skills for rapid decision-making under pressure.
In addition to your qualifications, training will focus on enhancing your knowledge of immigration laws. You must demonstrate proficiency in firearms training as well as exhibit strong physical fitness abilities throughout the 101-day course at FLETC located in Glynco GA.
The assignment may require completion of an online Spanish language program if assigned to specific duty locations. Upon graduating from CBP Field Operations Academy successfully completing basic law enforcement courses including those conducted by fellow officers via simulator technology (which covers simulations having actual weapons), candidates advance within ranks after meeting individual milestones set forth clearly outlined below.
