Job Description Join Oracle as a Software Engineering Intern in our Veteran Internship Program, designed exclusively for transitioning military veterans and active-duty military spouses. This paid internship offers valuable hands-on experience and professional development in a nurturing corporate environment. We are looking for driven individuals who are excited to work on large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems and cloud services. As part of OCI's OLTP organization, you will have a significant impact on the development of the next-generation cloud data platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with a fast-growing engineering team specializing in distributed database systems and cloud solutions. Your responsibilities will include enhancing existing products and developing innovative solutions from the ground up. As a member of the Cloud Services Development teams, you will contribute to defining and developing software for key components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure, playing a vital role in our centralized database store for Oracle Public Cloud. Key Responsibilities: Assist in defining and developing software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other software developers. Implement improvements to existing software architecture as needed. Qualifications: A BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field. Strong interest or prior experience in databases, distributed systems, and cloud services. Solid knowledge of Java, along with familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Perl. Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems. Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and network architectures. Knowledge of databases, NoSQL systems, and distributed persistence technologies is preferred. Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible is a plus.
