Job Description: Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support risk assessment, security auditing, and implementation of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls for critical information systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in security monitoring, risk analysis, and incident response, along with strong documentation skills. This role involves assisting with RMF-related documentation, preparing for independent security assessments, monitoring security events, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure appropriate technical controls are implemented and maintained. Key Responsibilities:
Support implementation and ongoing management of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls. Create, revise, and maintain RMF-related security documentation. Assist in preparation for independent system security assessments and audits. Conduct information security auditing and risk assessments. Monitor and analyze security events using tools such as Security Onion and ELK stack. Identify endpoint anomalies, malware activity, and potential exploitation techniques. Support network security analysis and basic penetration testing activities. Respond to security events and collaborate with team members to investigate and remediate issues. Assess social engineering risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Document findings, remediation plans, and security control status. Required Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in information security. Experience with security monitoring tools such as Security Onion, ELK stack, or similar platforms. Experience performing risk assessments and security audits. Knowledge of network security concepts and penetration testing methodologies. Strong analytical skills and ability to respond effectively to security incidents. Familiarity with NIST RMF or Cybersecurity Framework. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field. 5+ years of information security experience. Hands-on experience in risk management, security architecture, and incident response. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA. Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
