About the Job:This is a career-ladder position with promotional opportunities at grades GL-7, GL-9, GS-11 and GS-12.
- Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations
Job Requirements:
You qualify for this job if you possess one year general work experience that demonstrates your ability to learn regulations, methods & techniques through training or on-the-job instruction. Or One (1) year of specialized law enforcement work exp where you made sound judgments & decisions in firearm use dealing effectively with ppl using courtesy towards LEO matters analyzing information rapidly making prompt arrests after required training provided. You may also qualify for higher grade levels based on education completed prior service gained while working in LE roles such as corrections military etc.
Becoming an Agent
The entry process involves submitting your application providing supporting docs attending an assessment test referred forward from CBP Talent Network then take part in the Border Patrol Entrance Exam After clearing several steps successful candidates will begin their journey becoming U.S.Border Patrol Agents via detailed rigorous schooling–with six months @ Academy NM following graduation agents assigned various sectors branches nationwide diligently uphold American values protect citizens employing hands skills innovation global perspective integrity courage peace equality justice fairness safety prosperity security human life.
