Border Protection Specialist

The role of the Border Patrol Agent is to safeguard America’s borders and protect its citizens by preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers of aliens. This involves performing surveillance from covert positions, detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions, analyzing information rapidly, making prompt decisions, developing contacts with informants.

• •GL-9: One (1) year specialized experience or higher in official law enforcement capacity as state or federal law-enforcement officer.
