• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.


• Prevent the entry of undocumented noncitizens, smugglers, and contraband at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions.


• Interpret tracks, marks, and other physical evidence related to illegal entry for law enforcement purposes.


• Perform checks on farms, buildings, traffic checkpoints, city patrols, transportation checks to safeguard national security.
