As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the nation's borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Your primary responsibilities will include enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws; conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances; determining admissibility for entry into the United States; preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods; and combating smuggling activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Meet citizenship requirements: be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
- A minimum of three (3) years full-time general work experience demonstrating ability to meet people needs or completion of bachelor's degree from accredited college/university are required qualifications at GS-5 grade level.
- Federal civilian law enforcement retirement provisions may apply due to age restrictions unless serving/prior law enforcement status applies under Title 5 U.S.C. sections c).
