To accomplish these goals, a Customs Protection Officer must have strong analytical skills to evaluate information from various sources. This includes interviewing individuals suspected of violating customs regulations; conducting inspections of cargo shipments entering or exiting the country for potential compliance violations with customs procedures.
Officers also play an important role in public service by protecting communities through effective collaboration between diverse stakeholders like other law enforcement agencies, border management teams working within their designated area responsibility (DAR).
