Design & Technology Teacher – Special SchoolBirmingham | Salary up to UPS1 | QTS Essential This awesome Birmingham SEND school is seeking an experienced Design & Technology Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach within a SEND setting that offers outstanding facilities, small classes and a highly supportive staff team.
This role requires a confident and skilled teacher who can deliver engaging, practical lessons tailored to students with additional needs. You will play a key role in helping young people develop practical skills, independence and confidence through a creative and inclusive curriculum. Experience is a SEND setting is desirable, however not essential for the right candidate. As this is a small department you must be capable of working independently and detailing all planning and teaching responsibilities. Unfortunately this school is currently unable to consider an ECT for this Design & Technology Teacher role.
The Role:
Teaching Design & Technology to students within a specialist SEND setting Planning and delivering practical, engaging and differentiated lessons Adapting teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs Supporting students to develop practical skills and independence Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider staff Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential Strong experience teaching Design & Technology Previous experience working with SEND students (desirable) Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills The ability to plan creative lessons for mixed ability learners A patient, resilient and nurturing approachWhat The School Offers:
