We are seeking a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team. Reporting to the Mobile Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for trouble shooting, diagnosing, and performing routine and preventative maintenance on a large variety of heavy equipment. The successful candidate will have proven mechanical aptitude and skillset.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained, including all changes to the applicable manuals
  • Conduct routine checks and operational maintenance required for mobile equipment
  • Investigate breakages and downtime items to recommend improvements in maintenance operations
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
  • Ability to use computer and diagnostic equipment as well as read manuals and schematics
  • Electronic ordering or parts
  • Maintain accurate records on all repairs and services
  • Must follow safe work procedures and practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an industrial or wood products manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Current with all aspects of the mechanical instructional trade manuals
  • Must have the ability to do shift work
  • Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Valid Class 5 drivers' license
