FIREFLY is seeking a regular full time Family Resource Coordinator at our Kenora EarlyON Child and Family Centre, located within the Kenora Library.  This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support children ages 0-6 and their families through inclusive, community-based programming and outreach.

FIREFLY is a multi-service, non-profit organization committed to strengthening the health and well-being of children, youth, and families.  We provide community-based, mental health, and developmental services across Northwestern Ontario in partnership with families, schools, child care centres, and community organizations.

About the Role

As a Family Resource Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting families with young children by creating welcoming, responsive programming that reflects the strengths and needs of the Kenora community.  Reporting to the Director of Service Excellence and Partnerships, responsible for Developmental and Family Services, you will:

  • Assess community and family needs and design programming that supports early childhood development and positive parenting.
  • Deliver centre-based and outreach EarlyON programs for children ages 0-6 and their caregivers.
  • Provide resources, mentorship, and informal support to families using strength-based, family-centred approaches.
  • Serve as a liaison between FIREFLY and EarlyON partners, contributing to collaborative service planning and community initiatives.
  • Ensure program requirements are met and that accurate program and agency documentation is maintained.
  • Oversee the purchasing of resources in accordance with the approved program budget.
  • Prepare and distribute a monthly newsletter and schedule of events.
  • Participate in community initiatives and events as appropriate.

This is a full-time position based in Kenora.  Regular weekend work and some evening work is required to meet program and community needs.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent education
  • Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Knowledge of child development and family systems
  • Experience working with children and families/caregivers from diverse cultural backgrounds

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong ability to assess needs and develop responsive, inclusive programming
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skils
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skils
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality work
  • Demonstrated professionalism, emotional intelligence, and alignment with FIREFLY's values.
