We're launching Daily Clarity, a brand focused on helping people navigate life transitions through structured self-reflection. Our core product is a collection of themed card decks — currently 9 decks with plans to scale to 20+. Each deck contains 25 cards (4.72" x 4.72" square format) and is positioned as a premium, serious self-reflection tool priced at $60–65 per deck.
We need a talented designer to develop the complete visual system for these cards — both front and back — in a way that is scalable, cohesive, and reflective of a premium brand. This includes designing the Daily Clarity logo, which will be featured on the cards and serve as the foundation of the broader brand identity.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DESIGNING
Front of Card (one unified template across all decks):
Every card across every deck shares the same front layout. The design must elegantly handle the following elements with clear visual hierarchy:
- Main question/inquiry (largest, most prominent text)
- "Moment of Clarity" additional guidance related to the main question (smaller, lighter text)
- Card number (b/c sequence of the questions matters)
- Daily Clarity logo
The key challenge here is typography and layout. The template must work gracefully across varying text lengths — some questions are short and punchy, others are longer. We'll provide real card content so you can design with actual text, not placeholders.
Back of Card (unique per deck, but part of a cohesive family):
The back of each card is where the decks differentiate from one another. Each back will include:
- The name of the deck (e.g., Purpose, Birthday, Loss, Retirement, Conflict, Change, Newlywed, Graduate, Vitality)
- A unique design or visual treatment that gives each deck its own personality
- The logo may or may not appear on the back depending on the design
The back designs must feel distinct from one another while clearly belonging to the same brand family. This could take various forms — unique typographic treatments for each deck name, distinct illustrative elements, unique color schemes, or a combination. We're open to your creative interpretation, but scalability is critical. The system you develop needs to work just as well for 20 decks as it does for 9.
DESIGN DIRECTION
Daily Clarity is not a typical wellness or self-help brand. Our design should reflect the seriousness and substance of the product. Here's what we're aiming for:
- Communicate clarity, vibrance, and forward movement
- Feel premium, minimal, and inviting
- Bold typography with strong visual presence
- Vibrant, punchy, splashy color palettes with strong contrast
The overall vibe should feel confronting, invigorating, exciting, and disruptive. It should embody that moment of clarity when you commit to level up and do the thing you've been avoiding — the thing that will make you feel the most proud. That energy should hit the moment someone picks up a card.
Equally important — what we are NOT:
- No stereotypical self-help aesthetics (sunsets, butterflies, soft gradients)
- No spiritual product clichés (mandalas, lotus flowers, third eyes)
- No soft, overly feminine design language
Think more along the lines of a premium editorial product or a beautifully designed strategy tool than a mindfulness card deck. We want someone who picks this up and thinks "this feels intentional and smart," not "this looks like it belongs next to incense."
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A DESIGNER
- Strong typographic sensibility — this project lives and dies on how beautifully text is handled on the card fronts
- Experience designing visual systems or brand families — not just one-off pieces, but related assets that work together as a cohesive set
- Print design experience, ideally with cards, stationery, or packaging
- The ability to think in systems — designing a framework that scales, not just 9 individual solutions
- Comfort working within specific print specs (we're printing on 4.72" x 4.72" square postcards via Moo using their Printfinity technology on premium 32pt cardstock)
PROJECT SCOPE & MILESTONES
We envision the project structured roughly as follows:
1) Paid Design Sample — Before committing to the full project, we'll invite our top candidate(s) to complete a small paid design sample so we can evaluate creative fit. This will include a single card front using real content (a placeholder logo may be used at this stage), as well as initial ideas or mockups for the back of the cards for 2–3 of the decks.
2) Logo Design — Design the Daily Clarity logo, which will be featured on the front of every card and potentially on packaging and other brand assets.
3) Front-of-Card Template — Finalize the unified card front layout and typography system, tested against multiple real card examples of varying text lengths.
4) Back-of-Card System — Develop the unique back designs for all 9 current decks, ensuring the system is scalable to 20+ decks.
5) Color System — Define the color palette for each deck and how it applies across front and back.
6) Final Print-Ready Files — Deliver all files formatted to Moo's print specifications.
BUDGET
$3,500–$5,000 (fixed-price). We're open to adjusting based on the right candidate's experience and proposed approach. This budget covers the full scope outlined above, including the paid design sample.
BEYOND THIS PROJECT
We're looking for a designer who could grow into our ongoing creative partner as we build out Daily Clarity's full brand identity, packaging, and digital presence. This project is the starting point — if the working relationship and creative fit are strong, there is significant ongoing work ahead.

Please include in your proposal:
- Relevant portfolio examples, especially any work involving card design, brand systems, typographic design, or print products
