Über
We are looking for a detail-oriented Sourcing Specialist based in China to help us identify and manage suppliers for our growing business. The ideal candidate will act as our "boots on the ground," bridging the gap between our requirements and the vast Chinese manufacturing market.
Responsibilities
Supplier Identification: Research and identify reliable manufacturers/wholesalers in China that meet our specific product requirements.
Negotiation: Communicate with suppliers to negotiate the best possible pricing, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), and payment terms, ensuring we are dealing directly with factories when possible.
Sampling: Coordinate the production and shipping of samples to our office for quality evaluation and technical testing.
Logistics Support: Assist in coordinating with freight forwarders to ensure smooth export documentation, container loading, and shipping from Chinese ports to our destination.
Communication: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on supplier options, including pros/cons of each and factory background checks.
Requirements
Fluent in Mandarin and English: Must be able to negotiate fluently in Mandarin Chinese and report back clearly in English.
Proven Experience: At least 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within mainland China.
Critical Thinking: Ability to spot "red flags" with suppliers and prioritize quality and production reliability over the lowest cost.
Project Scope
Type: Project-based (with potential for long-term partnership).
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 40 hours per week.
