JOB OPPORTUNITY – SYSTEMS ANALYST, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (FULL TIME)

 Description 

 The Systems Analyst's role is to help ensure the successful operation and maintenance of mission critical systems and services, and function as the first point of escalation and overflow for helpdesk support services.

  • Maintenance, secure configuration, and reliable operation of on-premises and cloud infrastructure, network routing and LAN/WAN/Enterprise Wi-Fi, security gateways, physical and virtualized servers, and server OS and applications at our primary and recovery sites.
  • Participate on complex technical projects involving requirements gathering, implementation planning and execution, and post-project cleanup and improvements.
  • Anticipate, troubleshoot, and resolve system and software issues to minimize impacts to users and the business.
  • Create and maintain technical documents and supporting knowledge base.
  • Monitor and assist with disaster recovery strategies, incident response planning, and implement appropriate processes for data protection and failover procedures.
  • Ensure the integrity and availability of replication and backup systems.
  • Perform day-to-day administration of Windows Domain environment, including hybrid Exchange and M365/Azure integrations.  
  • Provide overflow and relief support for helpdesk support services to ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of network, virtualization, and system administration experience (outside of a support/helpdesk role) or equivalent work experience in a Microsoft/M365/Azure and VMWare/Hyper-V environment. 
  • Technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field. 
  • Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco-CCNA/Juniper-JNCIA certifications are an asset.
  • Practical experience managing next generation firewalls such as Palo Alto NGFW.
  • Practical experience managing an enterprise backup solution such as Veeam.
  • Proactive team player with strong analytical, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple demands and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to think logically with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Downtown location with regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.
  • Evenings and weekends to satisfy off-hours maintenance and project deadlines as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
