The Role

This role is based out of our Bolton site, reporting to the Construction Supervisor, the Equipment Operator will be responsible for performing numerous tasks that involve operating heavy construction equipment. This includes operating a dump truck, mini excavator, directional boring machine, and vacuum excavator. As our construction needs vary, the ideal candidate will be able to fill in scheduling gaps and perform a variety of different construction roles as required.

What You'll Do

  • Operate heavy construction equipment including:

    • Dump trucks

    • Mini excavators

    • Directional boring machines

    • Vacuum excavators

  • Support general construction operations as needed

  • Fill in across various roles to meet scheduling and project demands

What You Bring

  • Valid AZ or ARZ Driver's License with a clean CVOR and driver's abstract

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a mini excavator/dump truck combo, including:

    • Supporting a directional boring crew

    • Excavating splice pits and locate pits

    • Restoring and backfilling sites to original condition

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Book 7 and the ability to set up a safe and compliant work zone

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating or locating with a Ditch Witch or Vermeer directional boring machine

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a hydro vacuum excavator, including:

    • Driving to and from the site

    • Excavating locate and bore pits

    • Dumping waste

    • Performing routine maintenance and keeping the vehicle clean

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. The salary range indicated includes a Short Term Incentive Plan ("STIP") which represents a percentage of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives; The STIP payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures. The STIP payment is conditional upon meeting all of the STIP's eligibility requirements.
